My Life, As of Now

The video feed slowly fades into view, revealing what appears to be a couch of quite the expensive, luxurious quality. Rin walks into view, softly sitting onto said couch, barely putting any wrinkles into the black silk Khanid style robes she wore. Her dark brown hair loosely tied back, a few strands falling to the sides of her face as she looked at the camera drone with tilted head stare.

"You know, normally I feel more comfortable jotting down my thoughts, but it appears I have misplaced my usual writing utensils. My fault, you know, as it has been a while since I last wrote anything. So much to catch up on, I suppose, might as well use what I have at hand ..."

Rin sighs softly, and reaches down to adjust the camera drone so it is focused more on her face.

"Best start at the beginning, then. I left the Imperial militia several months back. I know, I know ... for what I am and how I was raised, there was always reluctance on my part to fight in that war. It never seems to go anywhere, do anything good. Too many die on both sides all the time. It's ... saddening. But, it at least freed me up to focus more on other things. Certain scum that love to creep into Amarr territory, namely."

A smile starts to creep onto her face now.

"Also, I've been set free. Middle of the month of December, I took on some grievous wounds, ones that nearly cost the life of that clone in particular, but it was worth it. I am of knight blood and lineage, after all. My duty, my dedication, my willingness to die for the cause ....... my lord deemed it worthy. I guess that makes me a citizen of the Empire now, on a commoner level, which I do not mind."

She leans her back into the couch now, and sighs. The smile from her lips fades some.

"Though I found out a couple months ago, a friend of mine had been in contact with a family member of my father's side of the family. Namely, the head of the family. As a birthday gift, she returned something that had belonged to my father. Even though it pleases me to have it in my possession now, the note left with said gift asked if we could ..... talk. In person, no less.

My relations with both sides of my family have always been strained. One looking down at me as if I am some pathetic mutt that needs chaining. The other not having contact with me at all, till now. So ... yes, I am suspicious still of the intentions. Though I made a promise to that friend I would at least try to talk to the head woman of the family. At least, see what she wants of me."

The shaking her head causes a few more strands of hair loose, falling onto her face now. With what sounds like a giggle, Rin lifts a hand to brush them away from her face. The smile appears again on her lips, and there's a softer look in her eyes.

"But as much as I should go meet with the woman, I will admit I have been ... distracted, as of late. Moving around a fair amount, as some construction is going on back home, but ... that's not exactly the distraction I mean."

Brightens up a bit more now.

"I am ... seeing someone now. A few months of waiting, after telling him how I felt, and ... he came around. Rather recently in fact. This turn of events, it pleases me so. Thus, I have been spending a lot of time with him, in private of course. Taking things slowly. Despite some of my thoughts and feelings on some things, I am still Amarrian on some things, after all."

Gives a jovial soft laugh now.

"But honestly, I could not have asked for anything better at this point. Thank God for that ... for everything, really."

With one final smile to the camera drone, Rin leans over, fingers reaching around to the side of the camera drone, and the feed fades to black.
